Refund Policy
This refund policy is aligned with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Act 68 of 2008.
1. Event Tickets for a Specific Date or Period
In accordance with Section 17(2) of the CPA, tickets purchased for events scheduled on a specific date or within a specific period are non-refundable, except where the event is cancelled or materially changed by the organiser.
By purchasing a ticket, the attendee acknowledges that:
-
The event takes place on a fixed date or dates
-
The ticket reserves limited capacity
-
The ticket is therefore excluded from the general cooling-off provisions
2. Cooling-Off Period (Direct Marketing)
Where a ticket is purchased as a result of direct marketing (as defined by the CPA), the consumer may cancel the transaction within 5 business days of the purchase date only if:
-
The event has not yet taken place, and
-
No event materials, access links, or resources have been provided or used
Any approved refund under this clause may exclude non-refundable payment processing fees.
3. Cancellation by the Organiser
If the organiser cancels the event for any reason, attendees will be offered one of the following options:
-
A full refund, including booking fees, or
-
A transfer to a rescheduled date or alternative event of equal value
Refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days.
4. Changes to the Event
If the event is materially changed (for example, date, format, or venue):
-
Tickets will automatically remain valid for the updated event
-
Attendees unable to attend due to the change may request a full refund within 7 days of notification
Minor changes (such as schedule adjustments, speaker substitutions, or platform changes) do not qualify for refunds.
5. Online Events
For online events:
-
Refunds are not available once access details have been issued or used
-
Sharing access details voids any eligibility for a refund
6. Ticket Transfers
Tickets may be transferred to another person up to 48 hours before the event, provided:
-
The organiser is notified in writing
-
The replacement attendee meets any event requirements
7. Exceptional Circumstances
Requests for refunds due to exceptional circumstances (such as serious illness or bereavement) may be considered at the organiser’s discretion. Supporting documentation may be requested.
8. How to Request a Refund
All refund requests must be submitted via email (sales@spiritualevents.co.za) and include:
-
Full name
-
Event name
-
Order reference number
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
